I have actually travelled quite a bit with Kenzie since she's been born but have had one constant problem - where will she sleep? Hotels forget to bring us cribs, playyard does not get used at inlaws, my mother does not have a crib in FL nor do vacation rentals offer cribs. I know I stated we still co-sleep (hey I'm trying to get her sleep in her bed... crying out method did not work!) but it would be nice to actually have somewhere safe for Kenzie to lay her noggin.
Kidco, Inc. sent us the PeaPod Plus and it is amazing. It's a travel bed (looks like a tent) with an actual inflatable mattress.
The PeaPod Plus is great for infants and children because of its generous size. It is enclosed with mesh paneling to allow for air flow when one is outdoors. There is UV protection as well as a large zipper allowing for easy front access. The pump is included for the mattress and it takes only a few minutes to "blow" it all up. Kenzie was rather impatient and went into her "house" while I was working on the mattress. The mattress slips into the bottom of the PeaPod and zippers right up.
I like the portability of this travel bed - super lightweight (6.75) and easy to fold up. Grab the top and fold in half, pull up the bottom and back and voila - ready to insert into handy bag. We took it to Vegas and it worked so beautifully. It can easily be kept in the car for any spur of the moment travel and one has the security that their little one will have a safe place to nap/sleep as well as play in.
(My original photos with Kenzie playing/napping went missing from my camera - so sad)
