I loved playing board games when I was a child. Kenzie loves to play, in general, so I hope that she becomes a game lover like her parents. Games are fantastic because they build strategic skills and allow for social play. The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Game from Educational Insights is a prime example of such.
This game comes with a tree shaped board, squirrel squeezer, acorns, spinner and logs. The goal of the game is to gather color-coordinated acorns in your log before the other players fill their log. The concept is simple in that you spin and do the action on which it lands i.e. collect an acorn (or two), specific colored acorn, steal an acorn from another player, pass your turn or return all your acorns (in your log) to the tree due to high winds! The age range for this game is 3-5 years old so Kenzie is a bit on the young side at almost 27 months but I believe she will get the game concept in a few months. Right now it's more of playing with the acorns and placing them in the log :)
