Kenzie was so excited to see the New Sprouts Fix It from Learning Resources in the mail. She has always tried to help around the house when Hubs or I are putting things together or fixing them. I am hesistant to let her play with real tools in fear of her hurting herself. The Fix It Tool Set is made entirely of durable, soft plastic and includes a saw, hammer, screwdriver, wrench and drill inside a toolbox.
Kenzie immediately started playing with her tools and laughed hysterically when she said "hammer" over and over again. The drill makes a little sound when you press it. The tools are pretty realistic and perfect for little hands to hold and fix things (recommended for age 2+). Kenzie really enjoys carrying her box around and using the hammer, screwdriver and wrench the most. She often places them inside her Hello Kitty purse to take along in the car. I like that these are easy to clean and store within the toolbox.
I really don't know where the fascination of fixing things came from but I am happy that she finally has her own set of tools to safely "help" around the house. Learning Resources has so many fun pretend toys to help children safely learn about the real world. This is great for helping their imagination soar.
