It's no fun when your tot is sick, especially if they are running a high fever and you need to make the call whether to phone the doctor or rush to the hospital.  Kidz Med gives you a an easy way to ease your concerns with their VeraTemp No Contact Thermometer.

I used to use a rectal thermometer under Kenzie's armpit and an ear thermometer that gave variable readings in both ears.  Needless to say, I was ecstatic to give the Kidz Med thermometer a run.  A few weeks ago Kenzie ran a fever in the middle of the night and she was super hot to the touch.  In my haze, I ran to her room and clumsily opened the plastic packaging, installed the batteries, quickly adjusted it to "body" and "fahrenheit" mode and pointed the VeraTemp at her forehead.  104 degrees flashed in red.  Guess who ran to get wet towels to cool her down? Yes me.  Thank goodness for the VeraTemp because I was constantly zapping her forehead without disturbing her semi-good sleep.

VeraTemp uses safe infrared technology to measure the heat radiating off of the forehead.  It is also great for measuring bath water temperature, food/drink temperature, room temperature and much more.  I am so thankful that we now have an accurate and reliable thermometer to take Kenzie's readings when she is ill.

  3. I LOVE this idea! When my oldest was around 1, she started having complete meltdowns whenever we had to take her temp (she hated the thermometer in her armpit, she was too strong to safely do a rectal check and she absolutely refused to let us check via her mouth...) my youngest is now 8 months, nearing that same age and I'd love to be able to check her temp without the tantrum!

  4. I love this and I have been wanting to get one for a few months now, it would make our life so much easier. My daughter has epilepsy and has always had very frequent seizures at night, her threshhold is so much lower when she is sick and has a fever, having to wake her freqently to take her temp when she's sick, makes her tired, which makes her more likely to have frequent seizures during the day.
